Baby Swaddles Blankets Plays Major Role in Protecting Your Child from SIDS

Baby swaddles blankets are a must to have thing for every new parent for keeping their baby warm and comfortable, especially during sleep.

After a long time break, swaddling has come back in and in a big way. It is basically an age-old technique for making a baby feel secure. As per the recent studies, swaddling your baby results in better sleep, for a longer time in comparison to the times when you don’t use baby swaddles blankets.

Another important benefit of using a swaddling blanket is that it automatically helps in reducing the risk of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). Most importantly, proper swaddling allows you to give your baby a comfortable sleep. It basically enables you to give him or her proper sleep on his or her back instead of stomach sleeping. Back sleeping is generally recommended by the doctors to reduce the risk of your baby dying from SIDS.

Baby receiving blankets the baby’s sleep stretches longer as their uncontrolled arms and legs are put under control by the blankets. It ensures more sleep to the baby as well as to the mother. They make baby feel snug, secured, warm and protected just like they used to feel in the womb. Swaddling also helps in reducing the symptoms of colic. However, you need to follow a proper technique while swaddling your baby.

Firstly, spread a cotton sheet out flat properly, with one corner folded over a little. Thereafter, lay your baby down on the sheet with its neck resting against the fold followed by wrapping of the other corner of the sheet over his body, thereby tucking it beneath him. It does not ends here, you need to bring the bottom corner of the sheet over his feet, thereby wrapping the right corner around him, leaving head and neck exposed.
Secondly, it should be ensured that the baby’s face is not covered with the sheet as it could cause him to overheat or suffocate. However, it should be taken care that your baby is not being overheated as swaddling is meant to provide security rather than to keep him warm.

Last but not the least; the swaddling process should be stopped once your baby is about a month old as it can interfere with the mobility and development of the child. And, when your baby starts kicking off the covers or blankets, then you should automatically understand that the time has come to remove the blanket over him.
Therefore, follow the proper procedure and technique required for baby swaddles blankets and encourage a proper development of your child.
